  • I have wanted to tell Bruce's family and friends what I remember of Bruce's last ten or so services in the Chapel on FOB Iskan in 2007. I was the platoon RTO that ran all equipment and intelligence for the Scout Snipper Platoon from the 1/501st Geronimo. My call sign was Mohawk 6 Romeo. I was out side the wire on major combat operations all the time but when I could I made it to services at the Chapel. That's were I meet Sgt.Bruce Horner. We prayed together many times after church services. I would like to say more but that probably a books long story. Bruce was a big strong man with an Amazing Heart. If you have ever studied in a prayer circle with Bruce you know he had something, he was spot on for that moment. I took it hard a few years later but during the war I just had to push on. We lost so many men on that deployment to Iraq that year. I hope this email finds Bruce's family and Church community. I hope I could someday meet or write about this great American Hero.
