During World War 2, 1 Lt Raymond Anglin was flying aboard a Douglas DC-3 when the aircraft hit a violent storm. According to reports, the aircraft broke up in midair just above Rewan Station, Australia. Anglin and his fellow passengers and crew, including 4 other Americans and 14 Australians, were killed in the crash.
