Hollywood legend, James Stewart, quietly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and continued to do so post war with the Air Force Reserve. He ultimately achieved the rank of Brigadier General before retiring in 1968, the same year he proudly pinned the gold bars of a U.S. Marine Corps second lieutenant on his son, Ronald McLean. Ron was killed July 8, 1969 in Vietnam and posthumously awarded the Silver Star Medal.

From this day forward, I will keep his memory a live by letting people know he is my hero. Live my life a way man of his stature would respect me.
