Remembering my Grandfather, Paul L. Kenney (Ass't Crew Chief) and his flight crew, lost on September 8, 1944 flying a cargo load from Kalaikunda, India via Lalmanir Hat to Chengtu, China. They were flying a C46 A Commando Transport (AAF serial No. 42-61054) and after a final radio check by Lalmanir Hat at 0240 (IST) - it is assumed that the aircraft was lost. A search by the Chabua Search & Rescue group (APO 466) was unsuccessful. My Grandfather and his 4 crew mates are still MIA.
