  • Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor was killed in Kuwait on March 1, 2026. She gave the ultimate sacrifice. Sgt. Amor was from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and she was 39 years old. She was a wife and mother of two children. In 2005, she enlisted in the National Guard and then transferred to the Army Reserve in 2006. Sgt. Amor received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal. In a statement with the Associated Press, her husband Joey Amor said, "She was almost home. You don't go to Kuwait thinking something's going to happen, and for her to be one of the first – it hurts." Joey also told MPR News, "If you needed anything she would just take care of it for you. She’s helped a lot of people."

Sgt. Amor served with the 103rd Sustainment Command, a unit responsible for providing food, fuel, water, ammunition, transportation equipment, and supplies. Five other U.S. service members also lost their lives in an Iranian strike on a U.S. facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait.

Her service to the United States spanned more than 20 years. We send sincere condolences and prayers to her family during this extremely difficult time. Thank you for everything you did. Rest in peace, Sergeant Amor.

    Eric Stanley,
