Maurice Padwa is my uncle (my mom’s brother). She was 9 when he was killed. My uncle was the last man in the house because a few years prior my grandfather died of a heart attack. My uncle next of kin is my 2 bothers, my cousin and myself. My uncle was killed the day before he was suppose to leave Korea. He was being promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. When he was killed they named his camp after him.... Camp Padwa was the Command Post for the 1st Engineered Battalion 1st Marine Division F.M.F.
