Darin and I went to high school together in Murray, Kentucky. I graduated in 1985 and he graduated in 1986. I was watching CBS News when I saw that he had been killed. I simply could not believe it. Even when we were in high school, he was very kind and polite, so that he could be taken by violence was difficult to understand. I told a friend of Darin's today that, back in high school, I always thought he would be a pharmacist because he was so smart. My prayers are with his family. I'm glad that I had the chance to know such an accomplished, and genuinely good, person.
