Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.
Dear Jon, this past weekend our family was invited to the Air Force Thunderbirds air show in North Carolina for a special dedication and flyover. The day was perfect, with beautiful blue skies, lots of sunshine, and plenty of love to go around as we honored you. It's been a long time and the journey hasn't been easy. But you've managed to bring us together in ways I never thought possible. So much healing has happened and we know you have your hand in all of it. Emma looks just like you and was so proud to see your name displayed on the number one jet this weekend at the air show. Sean and Jon climbed up to the cockpit in awe of what these guys did in your memory. You've been around a lot lately, Jon. I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me, but I do know this: you'll always be remembered. You gave me the most incredible gift ever, and a chance to live life with purpose. I learned a lot in your death and I'm forever grateful. You would've loved the show this weekend. I'm so glad we all got to be together again. We should do it more often...
