John and I were students together at Itazuke Dependents School, Fukuoka, Japan. His father was in the Air Force, and mine was a missionary. I was particularly close with his brother Charles (Chuck), even though he was older. I remember my shock when I heard John had died in Nam. I was in the 25th Infantry Division from 1970-72, stationed in Hawaii, but had no idea he was already gone. Memories are precious things. May all the memories of John bring peace and joy.
