  • 2nd Lt Herbert K. Davis (Army Serial # 17028694) enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet at Ft. Riley Kansas on January 22 1942 after 2 years of College. His previous occupation was listed as a “Farm hand” on a “General Farm. He was single with no dependents. Lt. Davis was serving in Panama near the Panama Canal in March of 1943. Cause of death is unknown however he was pronounced dead at Gorgas Hospital (Ancon Hospital) Southwest of Gorgas Rd, Balboa Heights Vicinity, Former Panama Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama on March 27th, 1943. Lt. Davis was buried in an American Cemetery in Panama near Gorgas (Marker 1877, Section C Row 3 Grave #42) before being disinterred on January 13, 1948 and shipped back to the United States on March 18th, 1948.
