TRIBUTES

Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.

  • For the last 6 years working on digging this forgotten hero from Colorado Spgs, CO. PFC Floyd Lindstrom received the Medal Of Honor, Silver Star, a Purple Heart and 2 Italian Military Crosses. Nov 11, 1943 Lindstrom's actions to save men caused him to be put in for the MOH and could have stayed back in the Anzio landing but choose to go. KIA Feb 3, 1944. Lindstrom remains was brought back to Colorado Spgs in 1948 and he was forgotten. Last time his name was in the newspaper was 1965. After be informed of this miscarriage of honor I started working to find out anything I could. I got American Legion Post 5 to dedicate their new flag pole to him. Then a local funereal business did a plaque for him. At a POW/MIA rally the first plaque was unveiled for Lindstrom on a public space. Now the new VA Clinic in Colorado Spgs will be named for PFC Floyd K Lindstrom. It is nice to be able to be a small part to honor this hero that should not have been forgotten.
