Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.
Elmer W. Gardner was my great uncle who I never got the privilege of knowing. He was KIA on June 12, 1944 at the young age of 28 years old. He was a Sergeant in the US Army and received the following awards/medals: ★ Purple Heart ★ Combat Infantryman Badge ★ American Campaign Medal ★ World War II Victory Medal. His younger brother, Arthur B. Gardner (who is also a member of the Gold Star Family) was KIA just 5 months prior to him on January 2, 1944, while also serving in World War II. They both lay in rest at Fort William Mckinley, Manila in the Philippines. I am thankful for their service and honor my two great uncles for their sacrifices to our great country.
