My belated thank you for how you kept us safe through your service in Iraq. I now recognize my ignorance of the importance of your mission during that time. Your bravery and self-sacrifice enabled the rest of us to live in relative peace. For that, I thank you. Hopefully, I will remember you going forward with greater appreciation and respect for what you have done for us, whatever the future brings.
