Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.
Arthur B. Gardner was my great uncle who I never got the privilege of knowing. He was KIA on January 2, 1944 at the young age of 23 years old (27 days before his 24th birthday). He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the USMC and received the following awards/medals: ★ Silver Star ★ Purple Heart ★ American Campaign Medal ★ World War II Victory Medal. His older brother, Elmer Gardner (who is also a member of the Gold Star Family) was KIA just 5 months after him on June 12, 1944, while also serving in World War II. They both lay in rest at Fort William Mckinley, Manila in the Philippines. I am thankful for their service and honor my two great uncles for their sacrifices to our great country.
