TRIBUTES

Honor your hero with thoughts, memories, images and stories.

  • A hero to us all. I hardly noticed his willingness to help others while he was growing up but it became quite evident once he became a Marine. Since his death, we have heard countless stories of his willingness to help others. This willingness was never so evident than the day he died. His sacrifice led to the safe return home of 10 men who may have themselves perished had it not been for John's bold and selfless actions on June 7. 2010. For his actions on that day he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, posthumously. Thank you Johnny Boy for the time we had with you and for setting a standard of selflessness we should all attempt to strive for. Lovingly on this Fathers Day, 2011-Dad
