  • My son was truly a leader. He is a strong and motivated individual. His unit told me that he was either on convoy, working on the vehicle or helping to build what they needed. he was a great carpenter, taking aftoer his father and grandfather. He was always true to his word, was willing to offer an ear to listen to whatever problem you might be facing, and usually had something funny to say to put a smile on your face. He spent time with the soldiers teaching about God and having bible studies with them.

He was a member of Alpha Battery, 2-180 Field Artillery Battalion. Darrel had served for 20 years with the Army National Guard Reserves and was a Correctional officer at the Flornce prison for 17-1/2 yrs. He was looking forward to retiring and moving to the White Mountains of Arizona. We miss and love and you will never be forgotten.
