    every year for my birthday, Dad would make me a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. to this day, my favorite cake
    How has the loss of your parent impacted your family?
    my brother was 6. has very little memory of dad. TOO SAD!
    Tell us about your experience as a military child (i.e. duty stations, friendships, etc.).
    traveled! Texas, Alabama, Illinois. still remember base housing and friends living around us. Brady's, Higgins, Altman's. re-connected with one of the Brady girls ;)
    What are some memorable lessons your parent taught you?
    love, honor respect
    What did you like to do with your parent?
    every Friday night was drive-in movie night. we would go to A&W and get baby burgers, momma burger and poppa burger. dad would put suitcases, covered with blankets in the back seat, making a bed for us kids, then off to the movie we'd go

    dad loved his family

    respect and honor
    What did your parent enjoy most about serving in the military?
    SERVING HIS COUNTRY
    What do you miss most about your parent?
    everything. was only 8 when we 'lost' dad. can't help wondering what life would have been like if he'd returned
    What has been the greatest challenge since the loss of your parent?
    mom raised 3 children - alone. when she was dying, she asked if i thought dad would be proud of how she did :(
    What message would you like to share with families with a loved one still serving in the military?
    BE VERY PROUD OF THE CHOICE YOUR CHILD MADE TO PROTECT AND SERVE!

    you are not alone
    What was your parent’s relationship like with you?
    dad was a disciplinarian. taught us to honor our father and mother and to love thru respect.
