  • Lt. Col. Billie Joe Williams, was a member of the 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On Mar 18, 1968, he was the co-pilot of a North American Super Sabre Fighter (F100F) on a mission over North Vietnam, when his aircraft crashed. His remains were recovered on Mar 6, 1991 and identified on Feb 26, 1992. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the missing at the Honolulu Memorial. On Dec 20, 1990, U.S. officials announced that the remains had been returned by the Vietnamese which had been positively identified as those of Billie Joe Williams after nearly 20 years, Billie Joe Williams was home.
